“Painting took me by surprise when I was living in Vancouver, British Columbia. I took a half-day intuitive painting workshop and afterward I had a creative burst. I use acrylic paint and what seems most insistent to me is color. I say yes to color at every turn. My paintings come from the realm of intuitive flash; I layer paint until I feel a pulsation and images start to appear. It’s always a mysterious process, and when I am painting I flow into a deeply peaceful place that’s beyond thought.“
